PROJECT NAME: Corrective and Preventive Action System, Lucent Technologies

BRIEF PROJECT PROFILE: Developing a system for registering corrective and preventive action requests for the Quality Control Department of Lucent Technologies.

The application routes the Corrective Action Request (CAR) form through the various assignees and after resolution, brings the form back to the assignee for verification and closing of the CAR. All operations are done through the browser. All data is stored in an Oracle database at any point of time.

ROLE: Developer (Assisted by another team member).

ENVIRONMENT: Lotus Notes 4.6.3, Oracle 8.0, Browser.

2.  PERIOD: January, 2000 (4 Weeks)

Involved in preparing proposals for various leads, Technology validations for verifying the use of tools, etc.

 

3. PERIOD: December, 1999 (3 weeks)

PROJECT NAME: BPL Mobile, Performance Enhancement

BRIEF PROJECT PROFILE: Identified areas of performance bottlenecks in the application and removed those with minimal loss of functionality. Re-analyzed the functionality to provide some functionality at the view level with out requiring the user to open the form.

ROLE: managing the project (Assisted by another team member).

4. PERIOD: September, 1999 (3 weeks)

PROJECT NAME: XpertOffice Customization for Maes Pierson

BRIEF PROJECT PROFILE: Customizing a Lotus Notes Sales force Automation package called XpertOffice, developed by Xpertease of Netherlands to suit to their customer, Maes Pierson’s, requirements.

ROLE: Team member and managing the project.

5. PERIOD: August, 1999 (3 weeks)

PROJECT NAME: System Study and Proposal Preparation for Deepak Nitrite Limited, Pune

BRIEF PROJECT PROFILE: Proposal preparation for the export processing department for a workflow application to keep track of their customers, contacts, opportunities and activities. The system needs to be scalable to combine other activities like keeping track of consignments and other communications between the marketing and production departments of Deepak Nitrite Limited.

ROLE: Systems Analyst – Studying the system, preparing the Study report and estimating the effort and time for the project.

BRIEF PROJECT PROFILE: Training of the developers on Lotus Notes 4.6 on application development, system administration, web-development, Scripting and integration of Lotus Notes and RDBMS (Oracle 7.3)

PROJECT NAME: BPL Mobile Customer Handling System

BRIEF PROJECT PROFILE: Development of a workflow application for handling the approval of customer request forms for Mobile phone lines (SIMS and Handsets) for BPL Mobile Communications Limited, Mumbai) and a Customer Call Resolution System for the Customer Care department.

ROLE: Development, Implementation at Customer Site, Trouble shooting, System Study for the second phase of COPS project, performance enhancements of CCLARS.

PROJECT NAME: Manned Sonata’s Stall in CSI Exhibition in Mumbai

BRIEF PROJECT PROFILE: Manned Sonata’s stall in CSI exhibition, demonstrated Sonata’s Sales Force Automation and Human Resources Management packages on Lotus Notes to attendees.

ROLE: Demonstrator

9.  PERIOD: November, December, 1998 (3 weeks)

PROJECT NAME: System Study for WIPRO, Performance Appraisal System

BRIEF PROJECT PROFILE: Development of a performance appraisal system for Wipro Corporate office. There were two types of appraisals, Normal appraisal – where an employee was appraised by his Supervisor and 360-degree Appraisal where an employee was appraised by his supervisors, peers, subordinates and self. The application had to have enough security to prevent persons from sending approval forms to unauthorized persons and persons from looking into each other’s appraisal forms.

ROLE: Systems Analyst – Studying the system, preparing the Functional Design Document and providing the effort estimates for the same.

PROJECT NAME: System study for Man-power Planning system on Lotus Notes for IDEA, Chennai

BRIEF PROJECT PROFILE: IDEA, Chennai wanted Sonata to study its processes and give a study and an effort estimate for the development of their Man-power planning system. Sonata had given a detailed system study report and effort estimate for developing a workflow application on Lotus Notes with Components.

PROJECT NAME: Web-Enabling of PPIC Application for Cheminor Drugs Limited, Hyderabad

BRIEF PROJECT PROFILE: Web enabling of a Lotus Notes Application (Production Planning and inventory Control - PPIC) on R4.5. Application was developed by in-house team in Cheminor Drugs. Sonata’s task involved browser-enabling the application and training Cheminor peronnel on the development techniques, use and maintenance of the system.

ROLE: Study the application, Web-enable and transfer know-how.

ENVIRONMENT: Lotus Notes R4.5 and Netscape browser.
